Orthodontics Treatment
What is Orthodontics?
As Batı Ortodonti, we aim to give you the best orthodontic treatment and ensure that you have a smooth and successful treatment process.
Although orthodontic treatments are similar depending on the individual’s dental and skeletal structure and complaints, the treatment plan may be different for each case. Early diagnosis of orthodontic problems is extremely important. In early diagnosed anomalies, the abnormality can be prevented or minimized. In addition, treatment can be provided with fewer interventions.
If skeletal disorders are diagnosed before development is completed (age 12 for girls and age 14 for boys on average) treatment may be possible. Otherwise, these types of disorders can often be treated only with a combination of surgical interventions-orthodontic treatment (orthognathic surgery). Today, we have many treatment options. The goal is to always make the teeth and jaws reach the normal cephalometric (compatible with skeletal structure) values determined according to the head base.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Orthodontic Disorders
Orthodontic disorders are mainly classified into 3 categories.
Problems can arise in the form of skeletal, dental, or a combination of both. The diagnosis of these disorders is made by taking cephalometric X-rays from the patients and analyzing the data with special programs. In addition, by using panoramic X-rays of the teeth, eruption time, eruption direction, root positions and numbers can be diagnosed. The patient’s skeletal age is determined on the hand-wrist X-ray taken from the patients or from the neck vertebrae and the treatment is directed accordingly. Additionally, photographs taken from the inside and outside of the mouth are transferred to special programs to diagnose disorders and using these programs it is possible to design smiles in the virtual environment.
Orthodontics in Children
Milk teeth can decay due to children not providing adequate oral hygiene and brushing and this process can result in extraction. For the permanent teeth to develop in the correct position and for jaw development, it is very important for milk teeth to stay in the mouth until the permanent teeth develop. Most of the time early milk tooth losses cause permanent teeth to lose their place and cause crooked teeth. In these types of milk tooth losses, placeholder measures should definitely be taken. You can find more detailed information about the topic in out “Child Dentistry” service title.
Orthodontics in Adults
With the development of orthodontic treatment systems, treatment can be done in adult patients as in children. With a beautiful and aesthetic smile coming to the forefront in daily work and social life, the demand for orthodontic treatment is increasing in adults. With the advancement of modern orthodontics, aesthetic orthodontic devices have also been developed. Treatment with transparent colored braces and wires (invisible braces), lingual orthodontic treatment or transparent plaques can easily offer solutions for the aesthetic expectations of adult patients.
Orthodontic Treatments
Today, many orthodontic treatment options are available.
The use of these treatment options may vary depending on the requirements of the case and the patient’s demands. Treatment options can be listed as follows:
- Metal Brackets
- Transparent Brackets
- Cover Brackets (Non-friction systems)
- Lingual Orthodontics
- Treatment with Transparent Plates
Invisible Braces
One of the most common methods of orthodontic treatment is braces. Now, we can use transparent braces in patients who approach metallic braces distantly due to aesthetic concerns. Invisible braces respond to the needs of individuals who stay away from classical braces, especially including children.
The positive change that will appear in your smile and your health that will be positively affected after our orthodontic treatments, is the biggest reward for Batı Ortodonti.
